Gene’s Passion is Coaching, and He Wants to Help YOU!
Before starting BetterRide in 1999 he had ten years of experience coaching snowboarding, giving him over 30 years of coaching experience.
Over those thirty years, Gene has mastered his coaching technique by keeping a B
He spends his time studying how people learn physical skills, taking coaches courses, and working with the best riders in the world including 4-time World Downhill Champion Greg Minnaar, National Downhill and Dual Slalom Champion Mitch Ropelato and National and Pan American Champion Jackie Harmony.
His critical eye can quickly spot what you are doing right and wrong and he knows how to get you to master the correct techniques.
Gene is a pretty good rider too, he has earned a silver (2002) and two bronze medals (1999, 2006) at the UCI World Masters Championships and in 2019 he won the US National Championships.
ALL Skill levels
Riders of ALL levels have invested in Gene’s courses since 1999.

All courses are limited to 8 students to ensure optimum student/coach ratio.
MTB Skills are not Intuitive
There is NO sport where doing the sport poorly but more often actually increases your skills.

cancellation policy
Because most BetterRide camps sell out well in advance, if you cancel within 6 weeks of a camp we can not refund your money. A $50 handling fee per person is retained and the remainder of your deposit is refunded.
COVID-19 amendment: Any course canceled due to a regional, local or federal COVID-19 response such as a stay at home order can be refunded (minus the $50 Paypal handling fee) or rescheduled to a later date.
We must adhere to our cancellation policy in order to maintain the price structure of our camps and not lose out on the potential of the spot. Please do not ask us to make exceptions. BetterRide does offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee but you must take the camp to get this refund.
We strongly recommend that you purchase trip insurance to protect your investment. You never know what emergencies might pop up before or during your trip.
